Throughout the years that Donna has travelled and painted, she has become a keen observer of the various roles that women play within their specific cultures and has worked to document these roles within her paintings.Through observation and assimilation, Donna moves seamlessly within the communities where, as a guest, she works tirelessly to record all that she sees with her brushes and vibrant palette.Through her painting, Donna looks at individual circumstances and personalities that anyone can relate to and connect with.
As a result, her work is informed, compassionate and universal.
to the confined living quarters, Donna switched to using
acrylics for the portion of these works completed in Korea
and oils when she arrived back in Canada.
